Bataan Freeport sees better 2021

Mariveles, Bataan­—Despite the challenges faced by the Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) in 2020 due to COVID-19, Administrator Emmanuel Pineda said they are optimistic the Freeport will do better in 2021.

Pineda said they are very positive that the FAB expansion areas in Abucay, Balanga, Dinalupihan, and Pilar will generate at least 3,000 jobs, 1Bataan writer Vinnise Marcelo reported.

Bataan 2nd District Rep. Joet Garcia previously authored Republic Act 11453, expanding the AFAB areas to other parts of the province.

“Because of the expanded areas of AFAB, new jobs will be generated; local economy will be stimulated; and development in the province will be promoted,” said the Freeport Administrator.
