Tears shed as Sueno bids DILG goodbye

There were several moments when employees of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) turned emotional at the farewell ceremony they organized for outgoing Secretary Ismael Sueno on Thursday morning.

DILG officials and staff members gave short messages of thanks to the cabinet member.

At one point, Sueno himself shed some tears.

He described himself as a 'sacrificial lamb.'

Prist Father Pio Sta.Maria offered mass for the departing DILG Secretary.

He gave consoling words to those who were present.

Sta. Maria said, as a presidential appointee, Sueno served at the pleasure of President Duterte.

Nevertheless, Sueno can still serve the public in many other ways.

Sueno was fired by Duterte over allegations of corruption.
