Christmas came early for the children of Hospicio de San Jose and the House of Hope Foundation, the beneficiaries of this year’s Give2Gift project of SmarTrade which aims to bring joy and hope by giving back to the Filipino community.

The institutions each received presents for the children in the form of donated essential items which included wheelchairs, wheel walkers, rice, detergent, diapers, bath soap, and canned goods.

Under the Give2Gift project, the management of SmarTrade, a leading financial education platform in the Philippines, together with its partner ATFX, matches the total donations raised by its employees to double the amount of items gifted to the program beneficiaries.

Each turnover ceremony was a happy occasion for the children who were treated to snacks and storytelling sessions where SmarTrade employees shared tales of hope, resilience, and the true spirit of Christmas. The kids were also given IPON Challenge Cans to instill in them the value of saving.

“This CSR event, which has become an integral part of our company anniversary celebration every November, is a testament to SmarTrade’s commitment to giving back to the community, something that we have always lived by,” said Joyce Ann Mayo, President and CEO of SmarTrade.

“We are so proud of our employees’ initiative and honored to partner with Hospicio de San Jose and House of Hope and support their mission to provide care for those in need, especially the younger generation. We believe that we make ripples in everything that we do and we are glad to be a part of this and spend time with the children at both foundations.”

Hospicio de San Jose is a non-profit organization in Manila and the first social welfare agency in the country dedicated to providing care for orphans, the abandoned, individuals with special needs, and the elderly.

The Give2Gift project reflects SmarTrade’s core values of compassion, empathy, social responsibility, and a commitment to use its resources and platform to make a positive impact on the lives of the Filipino people.

This is mirrored in the free services provided by the company to help empower every Filipino to make informed investment decisions to grow their hard-earned resources and build generation wealth for them and their families.
