Box-office queen Marian Rivera took the online by storm once again as she joined the trending Asoka makeup challenge with a twist.
The Asoka trend sees creators transforming themselves with elaborate Indian bridal makeup, hairstyles, and outfits, all set to a specific song from the movie.
In a video post on her TikTok account, the actress made her own version of Asoka by reliving the iconic character that had made her one of the sought-actresses of her time—“Marimar”.
Taking inspiration from the 2001 Bollywood film, the actress was seen doing makeup transitions as she slowly transformed to one of her beloved characters.
“Taking you back to 2007—Asoka style,” Marian captioned.
Back in 2007, Marian was chosen to play the lead role in the Philippine adaptation of the hit Mexican telenovela “Marimar”. She was paired with actor and now-husband, Dingdong Dantes.
The clip, which was reportedly taken down by Marian recently, garnered over 1.9 million views on TikTok before its removal due to copyright issues. While on her Instagram, the reel had already gained 6.4 million views as of writing.
Marian also marked another social media milestone as she gained 30 million followers on her official Facebook account.
“Happy 30 [million] followers, Facebook! Feeling grateful for all the love and support I’ve received. Thank you from the bottom of my heart,” she captioned.
