Multihyphenate Heart Evangelista-Escudero uses social media in a way that is similar to other brands and celebrities—to connect with other people either to promote her showbiz projects or share well-meaning causes. In similar way, she’s been harnessing the power of social media to strengthen her fan base while at the same time engaging and entertaining them.
“Ever since I was young, I felt that people like me because of the character I play but they don’t really know me as a person. I feel social media has given us the platform, the stage or the channel to reintroduce ourselves, the person that we really are,” Heart told Manila Standard Entertainment in an exclusive interview.
“I’m not the type of celebrity who has a lot of crazy fans, parang di nila ako bet,” she added in jest.
With her social media accounts, Heart is able to talk to her fans, sometimes real-time via Instagram Live. This gives her the ability to give people a glimpse of her life, or what she’s willing to share with the public.
“I’m really glad that I was given this platform where people, who are curious about me, can relate with me. I was only able to do that with My Myx,” the actress said alluding to her stint in a music channel.
“I used to read letters from senders. So, right now, I feel like I’m doing My Myx but with my own channel. I really get to talk to the people who follow and support me,” she related.
For someone who has a reputation for being a reliable brand endorser, Heart feels honored whenever brands and organizations take her on board to be their ambassador.
Recently, she appeared in a huge billboard on New York Times Square. She is seen posing with a handbag from sustainable fashion brand Ia’s Threads.
“I was surprised. They named the bag after my dog Panda. That was for the first billboard. I thought it was good opportunity. Actually when I did the shoot I didn’t give too much attention to it because I didn’t want to expect. Then one day, I woke up and it was there and then they release the second billboard on my birthday,” she revealed.
Adding another year to her already “blooming” life, Heart could only hope for nothing but good health.
“My birthday wish is just to stay healthy for me and my loved ones. It’s still a crazy year but I feel I’m one of the blessed ones and I’m very grateful for that and I feel that people are blessed to be a blessing to others. So, I always remember to do my part whenever I can. Amid the troubled year, it’s still a blessing because I have work and I’m able to do the things I do because of that. But I really wish that this would be a better year for everyone,” she said.

Heart translates this by continuously raising the game in her many engagements. “The pandemic has made me rethink the importance of having a home in a central address,” Heart conveyed. She shares further that having a strategic address in the metro, means not wasting her precious time in traffic which in turn gives her energy to do more of the things she loves and spend more time with her family and friends.
