Amid rumors of a breakup between celebrity couple Richard Gutierrez and Sarah Lahbati, the actor’s mother and talent manager Annabelle Rama confirmed her son has left the conjugal home and has been living with her for about a month now.
“I can’t speak about it yet. But I can tell you that Richard is currently with me,” Rama said in an interview with ABS-CBN News.
She said her son is gradually moving his belongings to his new residence in Alabang.
“He plans to move after Christmas,” she added.
Rama also revealed the couple’s sons, Zion and Kai, are currently with Richard.
Asked if she and Sarah were on good terms, the veteran talent manager said she has no time to talk to her daughter-in-law.
“It’s clear, isn’t it? You don’t need me to spell it out. Richard is working hard, while the other one is just squandering money. That’s all I have to say about that,” she said.
“He’s been working tirelessly. He did nothing but work. When he returned to Manila, he had no idea why there were problems… Just wait, because you’ll know eventually. Not now,” she added.
Rumors of the breakup started circulating when netizens noticed that Sarah and Richard had stopped posting photos of each other on social media for several months now.
Lahbati’s absence in recent family gatherings, including Rama’s 71st birthday celebration in October, further fueled speculation.
The couple’s last public appearance together was during the launch of Sarah’s furniture collection with Casa Selma in September.
The two tied the knot in a civil ceremony in March 2020.
