The Civil Service Commission (CSC) on Thursday announced its initiative to assist qualified contract of service (COS) and job order (JO) workers in obtaining the necessary eligibility for permanent government positions.
The commission will grant the Career Service Eligibility-Preference Rating (CSE-PR) to workers who have served for at least 10 years and have demonstrated valuable skills but lack the specific eligibility for plantilla positions.
The rating covers workers collectively called the JOCOSC6 in the government service, namely JO, COS, casual, contractual, coterminous, employees holding Category III and Category IV positions, and career service employees with first level eligibility.
These individuals interested in availing the CSE-PR must have applied for and taken the scheduled CSE (Professional or Subprofessional) starting March 3 and obtained a failing general rating not lower than 70.00.
A maximum of 10 points will be added to their failed rating to achieve the passing rate of 80.00, qualifying them for Career Service Professional or Subprofessional eligibility.
To qualify for CSE-PR, applicants need to have accumulated a minimum of 10 years of service in the government as JOCOSC6, along with a performance rating of at least Very Satisfactory or its equivalent in the two most recent rating periods before the application date for eligibility.
Furthermore, the application must be filed using the appropriate form with complete requirements within six months from the date of release of the results of the career service examination taken.
The CSC credited its initiative to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s earlier directive during their sectoral meeting together with the Department of Budget and Management, Department of the Interior and Local Government, and the Commission on Audit.
