Even on a Sunday, thousands of residents gathered in Taguig City to show their all-out support to the UniTeam tandem of presidential aspirant Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and his running mate, Sara Duterte-Carpio.

MAMMOTH CROWD. Supporters of presidential candidate Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos and his running mate, Sara Duterte-Carpio, flock to the tandem’s grand rally at Arca South in Taguig City Sunday evening.

Speaking before a huge crowd in Arca South, Duterte-Carpio thanked their supporters who gathered at the rally venue as early as noon.

“Many of you have arrived here since morning. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to be with you today,” she said.

“Our family has made a promise to our people, and part of that promise is for me to do all that I can so we can lead peaceful lives,” the Lakas-CMD chairperson added.

Marcos, in his message, said the overwhelming support of Filipinos means they approve of his vision of unity for the country.

“It is very important for us that you are here and you have expressed support and trust in the UniTeam tandem and our advocacy for unity,” Marcos said.

Also in attendance were members of the UniTeam senatorial slate—Sherwin Gatchalian, Jinggoy Estrada, Herbert Bautista, Larry Gadon and Gibo Teodoro.

On Saturday night, tens of thousands of Manileños also showed their solid support for the UniTeam tandem.

The throng of Manila residents, clad in red and green, trooped to Bustillos in Sampaloc, Manila to listen to UniTeam candidates led by Marcos and Duterte-Carpio.

“Our family owes all of you a debt of gratitude, for the love and support you have showered us. President Duterte wants you to know that he has a grateful heart for all of you in Manila,” said Duterte-Carpio in her speech.

Marcos, for his part, called on his supporters to be vigilant against possible efforts to subvert the peoples’ will in the May 9 polls.

“Let us continue what we have started, this movement for unity. This will be a victory not just in the elections but for our future,” he said.

Manila mayoralty candidate Alex Lopez said the City of Manila, which he claimed is buried neck-deep in debt due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will soon recover under the UniTeam’s leadership.

“We here are united in the same goal, to lift each other out of poverty and rise again,” he said.

In response, Duterte-Carpio assured the crowd that should they win, they will focus on reopening jobs.

“The government must focus on the jobs and businesses lost due to the pandemic. The government must focus on the money in the pockets and food on the table of every Filipino family,” Duterte-Carpio said.
