Taguig City Mayor Lino Edgardo Cayetano said they are targeting to vaccinate up to 600,000 residents within two months once the shipment of vaccines arrives.

The local government prepared a P13.5-billion recovery budget for this year, with P1 billion to be utilized for the COVID-19 vaccination program.

Cayetano said the city government is also in the process of establishing two more vaccination hubs – one in the Bonifacio Global City and another near Vista Mall in Barangay Calzada-Tipas.

He said the three hubs capable of 24-hour operations will be part of a lineup of 40 vaccine centers across Taguig.

“We have to establish 200 vaccination teams to vaccinate 630,000 Taguigeños in 60-90 days,” said Cayetano.

The 24-hour vaccination hubs will not only be more convenient but will also allow a faster turnaround. These vaccination hubs are also strategically positioned in Taguig and are easily accessible to residents.

“Our target here is not only speed but safety, efficiency and accessibility.  Our 24-hour hubs and our community vaccine centers will help us hit our objectives. This will open the opportunity for more citizens to get vaccinated and not have them worry about time,” the city chief executive said.
