Pilar, Bataan—The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Bataan has dedicated 17 hectares land here for the Balik Probinsya, Bagong Pag-asa Program of Duterte administration.

“We immediately scout for an area for the program to accommodate returning Bataan natives in the province and also as response to the call of Gov. Abet Garcia,” said PENRO Raul Mamac.

“We set aside 17 hectares land in Barangay Binukawan, Bagac,” he said.

Preparations are already being conducted by concerned government agencies including DENR for the implementation of the program, he said.

Senator Bong Go said that to successfully implement the program, coordination, cooperation, and collaboration between the national agencies and local government units are important and it must be ensured that respective local government units are ready to accept returning program beneficiaries.

The national government said Balik Probinsya, Bagong Pag-asa Program aims to provide hope for a better future to Filipinos through equity in resources throughout the country that will boost countryside development.

The program is geared towards addressing Metro Manila’s congested urban areas by encouraging people, especially informal settlers to return to their home provinces and assist them.
