Mo Tautuaa leads SMC’s hot start vs Ginebra.

The 6’7” Tautuaa knocked in 12 of his 20 point tally in the first quarter as the Beermen took charge early.

Tautuaa’s heads-up game contributed to the Beermen’s pivotal 81-66 triumph over Barangay Ginebra San Miguel Gin Kings last Sunday at the Angeles University Foundation Sports Arena in Pampanga.

“I think this is the best start we had but in the bubble, but it’s really hard for a four or five (winning) streak. Sooner or later you’re really going to have a bad game,” said Beermen coach Leo Austria.

This allowed the Beermen to earn their sixth win in 10 outings for a 6-4 win-loss record.

The Beermen were able to redeem themselves from a 34-point loss to the NLEX Road Warriors.

“With this win, I think we have a little bit of an advantage. I have to commend the players especially the veterans at the start,” added Austria.

After Tautuaa made 12 points in the first period for a 27-22 edge, the Beermen outscored the Gin Kings, 26-14, in the second canto to take a 53-36 halftime lead.

Chris Ross added 11 points, 14 boards, four assists, and four steals for the Beermen.

The Beermen will next clash with NorthPort Batang Pier at 6:45 p.m. on Nov. 10.
