The Department of Agrarian Reform is now implementing a technology-based visitor’s access portal system to continually cater to its clientele.

Secretary John Castriciones said the initiative is in direct response to the impacts of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) through the implementation of a visitor’s access portal system (VAPS) and access portal system (APS) to ensure that social distancing measures are observed by the agency while performing its duty to assist and inform the public on their agrarian reform-related concerns under the new normal safety protocols.

“Aside from keeping the public and employees safe, the DAR aims to utilize and integrate technology in the regular workflow of the department, ensure greater productivity and connectivity between and among offices, and establish a more technologically-adept workforce as the new norm,” he said.

A VAPS terminal is a system allowing a representative from the agency's Public Assistance and Information Center, on behalf of the clienteles visiting the DAR to inquire about their DAR-related cases, may communicate via voice or video call with the DAR frontline offices.

On the other hand, the APS terminal serves as a supplement to landline phones.
