F2 Logistics volleyball stars back ERJHS sportsfest

IVY Lacsina and C. J. Woo, two of the leading stars of PVL All-Filipino third placer F2 Logistics Cargo Movers, will make special appearances during the 2023 ERJHS Alumni Sportsfest 2023 on Sunday, April 16 at the Barangay N. S. Amoranto covered court in Malaya St., Quezon City.

Lacsina, the 6-1 middle blocker from Angeles City, and Woo, the 5-5 libero from Dumaguete City, played key roles in F2’s successful campaign in the recent PVL All-Filipino where it finished third following dramatic 23-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-15 win over PLDT High-Speed Hitters.

The two F2 mainstays also represent the company’s long-term program to promote sports development in the country, especially women’s volleyball.

Lacsina and Woo will join former Quezon City councilor Mayen Juico and NorthPort Batang Pier coach Bonnie Tan as opening-day guests in the month-long basketball and volleyball tournaments organized by the ERJHS Alumni Sports Club, headed by Ed Andaya and Imee Gines.

Juico, daughter of former Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Chairman Philip Juico, and Tan will deliver the inspirational remarks, while Lacsina and Woo will make the ceremonial toss.

Joining them are former ERJHS Alumni Association president Jess Asistin, Police Lt. Col. Mike Gomez, Brgy. N.S. Amoranto Chairman Ato de Guzman, and ERJHS Head Teacher Marvin Pelayo, will represent ERJHS Principal Gina Labor-Obierna.

The annual sports fest will kick off with the traditional parade of teams at 8:30 a.m., followed by the opening ceremony at 9 a.m.

The Roberto Castor Rover Scouts under Fe Castor-Pangan wil lead the parade.

Basketball and volleyball games will begin simultaneously after the opening rites.

Also supporting the tournament are businessman-sportsman Alex Wang of Wang’s Ballclub, William “Maca” Chua of Ping Ping Lechon. and  Brgy Paang Bundok Chairman Lawrence Tiglao.

ASC advisers are Zeny Castor and multi-titled coach Rene Baena.
