On the eve of Christmas Day, Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte wished the city residents a happy and merry Christmas.
“For the majority of us, Filipinos, and Christians around the world, this is a wonderful time to celebrate the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. It is worth noting that rather than coming in power, riches, honor and glory, Jesus arrived in obscurity, poverty and humility. His life is dedicated to the service of God and is devoted to uplift others,” she said.
“As we celebrate this holiday season, let us remember our families, friends, and neighbors whose daily struggles continue. Whether it’s finding a better job, an affordable place to call home, or financial assistance for medical bills, too many of us are faced with problems and need solutions now. Let us take this as an opportunity to dream bigger for our future; let us recommit ourselves to building a more just and equal world where we all rise together—leaving no one behind,” she added.
“May the fulfillment of these aspirations start from us, as one Quezon City. Have a joyful holiday.”
