ToFarm top films get extended screening

After its successful run this month, the 2018 ToFarm Film Festival is extending the screening of the top four films by giving them another week at select cinemas at Gateway, Greenbelt 1 and Trinoma.

 Tanabata’s Wife, ToFarm Film Festival’s most decorated entry, is having an extended commercial screening along with three other top films.

Due to encouraging feedback and demand from the audiences, the festival announced that Tanabata’s Wife, Alimuom, Sol Searching, and Mga Anak ng Kamote will be available in the aforementioned cinemas until Oct. 2. They started their extended run on Sept. 26, more than a week after the festival concluded. 

During the film festival’s awarding ceremonies, Tanabata’s Wife won 9 of the 14 awards including Best Picture, Best Director (Charlson Ong, Lito Casaje and Choy Padilla), Best Actor (Miyuki Kamimura), Best Actress (Mai Fanglayan), Best Screenplay (Charlson Ong, Choy Pangilinan, Mao Portus, and Juan Carlo Tarobal), Best Cinematography (Nap Jamir), Best Production Design (Martin Asadao), Best Musical Score (Kurt Ayeo-eo Lumbag Alalag, May-I Guia Padilla, and Marc Tan), and Best Editing (May-I Padilla).

 Alimuom, a futuristic film directed by Keith Sicat, won third Best Picture. Sol Searching directed by Roman Perez, Jr., was adjudged People’s Choice. While Mga Anak ng Kamote directed by Carlo Catu won Best Sound for Immanuel Verona.
