An accused in a legal dispute involving Alliance Select Foods International expressed confidence he would be found innocent after a Pasig City Metropolitan Trial Court ordered his arrest for violation of the Corporation Code on the inspection of company records.

Jonathan Dee, a former board member of Alliance Select Foods, stressed he was determined to clear his name in all appropriate legal venues after two shareholder groups in Alliance Select Foods filed two cases accusing him and others of having refused to allow the inspection of company books.

“The records will clearly show that there was no violation of the Corporation Code, and that Alliance Food board voted to allow the complainants to exercise their rights on an inspection. Unfortunately, the process was delayed by the actions of the complainants themselves, which we will show in the coming days,” he said.

In a series of earlier decisions, the Department of Justice already cleared the accused of the charges, with the decisions showing there had been no denial of the complainants’ right to inspect the company books.

“We are confident the facts will bear out that there had been no violations at all, and this will hopefully lead to a speedy dismissal of the complaints,” said Dee.

Besides Dee, Judge Emmanuel Pimentel of Pasig City MTC, Branch 69, also ordered the arrest of accused Sycip, board chairman of Alliance Select Foods and other executives of the company for alleged violation of pertinent provisions of Corporation Code, particularly the right of shareholder or member of the corporation to an inspection of the corporate records.
