SN Aboitiz aids NV women’s sector

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya—Officials of the SN Aboitiz Power-Magat, Inc. have given P700,000 to aid two women’s organizations in the province to jumpstart their livelihood projects.

The fund was given to the Federation of Barangay Nutrition Scholars for their food production project worth P600,000 and the Abot Palad Foundation, Inc. for their rice trading business worth P100,000.

The turnover program was done at the office of Governor Carlos Padilla within the provincial capitol in Bayombong with former Gov. Ruth Padilla, engineer Wilhelmino Ferrer, SNAP-Magat assistant vice president and plant Manager, provincial health officer Dr. Edwin Galapon, provincial nutrition officer Luzviminda Ragpa, and officials of the recipient organizations.

Ragpa said the fund assistance will also boost nutrition programs and activities in the province.

“The fund for the FBNS will be used to produce healthy foods for schoolchildren in various towns of our province,” she said.

Governor Padilla also thanked the officials of SNAP-Magat, Inc., saying the assistance will benefit the human resources of Nueva Vizcaya.

“This is a good investment for our human resources because it will provide them with proper education, nutrition, livelihood and health,” he said.

The fund is part of the yearly Corporate Social Responsibility fund of SNAP-Magat, Inc. which aims to provide livelihood opportunities for communities living within their host communities, especially in the watershed areas of Nueva Vizcaya and neighboring provinces.

SNAP-Magat, Inc. operates the Magat Hydro Power Project in Ramon, Isabela.
