Cadavers of two persons believed to be foreigners were found in an area where fighting is ongoing in Marawi City.

Soldiers found the remains yesterday or on the 44th day of clashes between government troops and the Maute terrorists.

Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Spokesperson Brigadier General Restituto Padilla gave this information during the ‘Mindanao Hour’ press briefing in Malacañang on Wednesday.

Verification on the identities of the dead persons is being done.

Padilla also added AFP Chief of Staff Eduardo Año has met with the inter-agency council and they talked about the rehabilitation for the displaced residents of Marawi City.

The AFP spokesperson added topics like timeline in the military operations in Marawi City and possible extension of martial law in Mindanao are not priorities right now.

He also made it clear that government is enforcing arrest orders for suspected Maute members and supporters even outside Mindanao.
