UNKNOWN cockers Max Benedicto of Ilocos Sur and lawyer Amante Capuchino of Bataan lead the 2017 World Slasher Cup Invitational 9-Cock Derby which enters its sixth day today at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Benedicto’s Wapato Boys and Amante’s ARC Farms posted five wins each from Thursday’s semifinal round to qualify to the grand finals on Feb. 1.
Joey Melendres of Australia (Swerteng Anak) tallied 4.5 points to join the grand finalists.
Of the 93 participants, 10 scored four points: Soan Sogianto of Indonesia, Carlos Martinez of Texas, Lito Guerra, Doc Ayong Lorenzo, Harold Ramos, James Uy, Jun Bacolod, Mayor Rex Bernardez, Boyet Legazpi, Paolo Malvar and Boy Marzo.
