A sought after crossover gets a major revamp

Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has officially launched the new and improved version of its best-selling hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) model, the Toyota Corolla Cross.

The 2024 Corolla Cross now comes in an all-HEV lineup, further expanding TMP’s range of affordable and reliable electrified vehicles.

During the launch event held at the SM Aura Atrium in Taguig City last Friday, TMP President Masando Hashimoto highlighted the role of the Corolla Cross in Toyota’s commitment to sustainable mobility options. He mentioned that the Corolla Cross has been instrumental in accelerating electrification in the Philippines, with TMP achieving impressive sales figures for xEVs (electric vehicles) since the launch of the Corolla Cross in 2020.

Hashimoto revealed that as of February 2024, there are already more than 4,000 electrified Corolla Cross vehicles on the road, part of the over 13,000 customers who have chosen electrified Toyota and Lexus models. This demonstrates the growing popularity of electrified vehicles among Filipinos.

The new Corolla Cross offers various style and function enhancements. The V HEV and G HEV variants feature a mesh-like grille with hexagonal outlines, while the GR-S HEV variant maintains the stylish front façade of its predecessor. The headlamps have been upgraded to LED lamps with automatic high beam and sequential turn signals for the V HEV and GR-S HEV variants, while the G HEV variant now has LED lamps instead of halogen lamps. The top-of-the-line GR-S HEV variant includes a panoramic view monitor camera and a panoramic moonroof.

Under the hood, the new Corolla Cross is powered by a hybrid 4-cylinder, in-line, 16-valve DOHC engine with CVT transmission. This hybrid engine combines the power of a conventional engine with the fuel efficiency of an electric motor, offering customers an eco-friendly driving experience.

Hashimoto emphasized that the improvements in the Corolla Cross are part of Toyota’s dedication to nurturing the Corolla brand, which has been the best-selling Toyota nameplate globally. He expressed the company’s commitment to ensuring that the Corolla continues to be enjoyed by future generations while contributing to carbon neutrality.

The new Corolla Cross is available in three variants – the GR-S HEV, which starts at P1,917,000; the V HEV, which starts at P1,763,000; and the G HEV, which starts at P1,498,000. Available colors are as follows:
