IN an ultra competitive smartphone market, realme has managed to sneak in some new models that have wowed users, like its recently launched realme 12+ and the pro+.
Another soon to be launched model by the brand is the realme 12 5G and the question is – will it make a splash in the ever-competitive mid-range smartphone market the way its siblings did? And with so many options available, does the realme 12 5G stand out?
Here are some of our first impressions.
Watch-Inspired Chic
Like its siblings, the design of the realme 12 5G draws inspiration from high-end watches, with a unique rear panel that features a “watch-like sunburst dial” and a gleaming line running down the center.
This differs from the usual flat backs we see on many phones, and the result is a premium look that is a head-turner. The flat sides with rounded corners feel comfortable to hold, and while it’s plastic, it has a premium feel that could be mistaken for metal.
A Visual Treat
The realme 12 5G boasts of a large 6.67-inch AMOLED display, which translates to vibrant colors and deep blacks, making web browsing to watching videos a truly immersive experience. The display also has a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, allowing fluid scrolling and gaming.
Power specs
Although we haven’t extensively tested the phone’s performance, the realme 12 5G packs some promising specs as it offers two storage variants, 128GB and 256GB, both paired with 8GB of RAM. This should be enough to handle most everyday tasks and multitasking with ease.
Verdict, so far
First impressions, they say, last, and is the case with the realme 12 5G, which we predict will be a strong contender in the mid-range segment. The stylish design, impressive display, and decent specs on paper make the realme 12 5G an enthralling choice.
The real test, however, is how the realme 12 5G performs in the context of everyday life, with its camera quality, battery life and overall use.
