Smartphones have been the go-to helping hand of Filipinos in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.

From online shopping to online health consultation, almost everything can be found in phones by the palm of your hand.

Based on research, around 84.7 million Pinoys are proud users of mobile phones. With that huge number, we can only imagine what mobile apps are the most used and popular in the country.

Here in Manila Standard, we list some of the sought-after smartphone applications. To learn more, see the list below:

Social Media

Facebook and Messenger are still the most used social media app in the country, followed by TikTok, a video-sharing platform that caters to different short video content.

For third place, photo and video sharing app Instagram took the seat while for fourth and fifth place, Telegram and WhatsApp Messenger placed respectively.

Online Shopping

For e-Commerce, Shopee is still the number one app in the country, followed by its rival Lazada, while online fashion store Shein is in third place.

China’s Alibaba is seated fourth with shoe manufacturing giant Nike placed fifth followed by SM Mall Online in sixth place.

Online Mobile Games

Moontoon’s Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is still the top-grossing mobile gaming app in the Philippines. Call of Duty: Mobile by Garena is sitting closely in the second rank.

Online game platform and game creation system Roblox is rested third with South Korea’s free-to-play open-world K-fantasy MMORPG, MIR4 fairly put on the fourth rank.

Nostalgia hits for players with Ragnarok M: Eternal Love and Diablo Immortal placing numbers five and six respectively.

Others

CapCut—Video Editor, Canva, and Picsart Photo & Video Editor are still the favorites by artists for quick video editing, photo enhancement, and design creation.

For online wallets, GCash remained the top choice for the people, while Maya—formerly known as PayMaya – is starting to make noise as a competitor for the top spot.

These are the top applications in the country that mobile owners download on their phones. To know more about the apps visit Apple’s App Store and Google Playstore.

The list is based on similarweb.com’s Most Popular Apps in the Philippines which was updated last September 18, 2022.
