Newly crowned Atomweight MMA queen Stamp Fairtex eyes showdown with Xiong Jing Nan

ONE Women’s Atomweight MMA World Champion Stamp Fairtex is striking while the iron’s hot.

Fresh off making history by becoming the only athlete in combat sports to win three different World Titles after beating Ham Seo Hee in September, the charismatic Thai superstar now eyes a showdown with ONE Women’s Strawweight MMA World Champion “The Panda” Xiong Jing Nan.

The Chinese heavy hitter hasn’t lost a bout in the division since making her debut in 2017, going 8-0 in strawweight and 9-1 overall in ONE Championship.

Stamp believes she has the tools to knock Xiong from the throne she’s been comfortably sitting on for years.

“Xiong Jing Nan, I feel like she is the only challenge I want to try right now,” she said.

“My next goal is to move up to fight Xiong Jing Nan in her division. I want to challenge myself to see how far I can go.”

While she’s at it, Stamp plans to revisit a special rules match – something that she was scheduled to embark on earlier this year.

Stamp was supposed to face highly touted kickboxer Anissa Meksen in a mixed rules match but the fight was eventually scrapped.

The cancellation of the bout turned out for the better for the Fairtex Training Center representative, as it set her on the path to winning the MMA World Title and making history.

Now that she’s accomplished that, it’s time to go back taking sidequests.

“If possible, I want to fight in special rules with MMA and Muay Thai. I missed this opportunity once. I’m interested in boxing in small gloves with special rules, as well,” Stamp said.

“I feel like I want to try something new with special rules. These new challenges will inspire me to work harder and succeed more.

“I think I still have room to grow. I believe I can develop my potential even further.”
