Miners Golf Team retained second spot after a 76 and 144 aggregate,

Team Mcder followed up an opening round of 66 with 68 for an aggregate 134 and its six point lead balloon to 13 halfway in the tournament in the Senior Fil B competition.

The 288 players are scheduled to take another antigen test today midway into the tournament as organizers impose strict health protocols to avoid a possible spread of COVID-19.

“We are glad to have the Fil-Am back. It’s the world’s largest in the world and we want to continue the tradition,” said Camp John Hay chairman Robert Sobrepreña.

He said: “We wrote the National Golf Association of the Philippines (NGAP) and Inter Agency Task Force (IATF) and local government unit several months back. I know they were looking at the infection rates. When it went down, we got the green light.”

But for 2021, Sobrepeña said that the Fil-Am executive committee made sure that everything will be in order to ensure the health and safety environment while playing in a bubble.

“Our staff and the people involved at CJH and Baguio Country Club are fully vaccinated and have antigen tests. To safeguard everyone, participants have to undergo antigen tests as well. This is in compliance with the LGU’s guidelines,” he also said.
