The team captained by Pierre Zimmermann (with Frank Multon, Fulvio Fatoni, Claudio Nunes, Tor Helness, Geir Helgemo) won the 2014/2015 French Open Team Championship. Zimmermann defeated in the final match the team captained by Philippe Soulet (with Bernard Payen, Michel Lebel, Thierry de Sainte Marie, Erick Mauberquez, Christophe Oursel) by 252-116.
The final stage of the French Open Team Championship (Division Nationale Open Par Equipe) was held from January 24-25, 2015.

After the opening bid by golfermike South doubled. I bid my heart suit. Golfermike rebids his clubs. I only have fourteen high cards points, but the Ace of diamonds singleton and the terrific club support I decided to bid the slam. Golfermike with excellent play made the contract.

The auction: after North asked for the keycards, North further asked if South had the queen of trumps and South said yes. South also assured of the clubs control after North six clubs bid. So South bid the grand slam in hearts. Then partner golfermike doubled the contract. Look at my hand sitting west. I had only two jacks. I reviewed the bidding. I concluded that with South had also the queen of trumps, it would not be right to make the safety play of leading trumps in a grand slam contract. So I decided to lead from spade holding: j106. Bingo! it was the lead golfermike was asking for. We had an excellent defense against the grand slam for down one.
