ONE Championship will mark its return to the United States in the second half of 2024.
The world’s largest martial arts organization announced two shows for the U.S. on Wednesday, 10 January.
ONE returns to Colorado for ONE Fight Night 26 at Ball Arena on September 6 before heading South to make its debut in Atlanta, Georgia, for ONE Fight Night 28 inside the State Farm Arena.
In an official statement, ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong expressed his excitement and reiterated that the United States remains one of the priority markets for the promotion.
“We’re thrilled to return to the U.S. to showcase the greatest world champion martial artists in the country’s best cities and sports arenas,” he said.
“America remains a high-priority market for us as we continue our global expansion, and we can’t wait to get back on ground to entertain our passionate fan base in the region with quarterly U.S. events in September 2024 and beyond.”
ONE had itself a fantastic debut in the US in May 2023. It held ONE Fight Night 10 in front of a sold-out 1stBank Center in Colorado. There, ONE Flyweight MMA World Champion Demetrious Johnson closed his rivalry with Adriano Moraes in front of his compatriots.
Now ONE hopes to recapture, and even surpass, the magic of that event with the two planned shows in the U.S. this year.
It’s set to be a busy year for the promotion. Aside from the Fight Night events that air live on U.S primetime and the Friday Fights series from inside Lumpinee Boxing Stadium, the numbered events are also back in the fold.
Aside from the United States, ONE also marks its return to Japan for ONE 165 on January 28, while also breaking ground in Qatar for ONE 166 this March.
