Carlo Bumina-ang plans to showcase his evolution as a fighter when he returns to the ONE Championship stage this Friday.

The Team Lakay stud looks for his second straight win in the world’s largest martial arts organization opposite Russian striker Denis Andreev at ONE Friday Fights 37 this 20 October inside Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Bumina-ang comes in boasting heavy hands and accurate striking, but he’s taking the time to improve other facets of his game as well.

“As an MMA fighter, the goal is always to become more well rounded. MMA isn’t just striking. There’s wrestling and grappling, and that’s what I’m working on right now for this fight,” he said.

“I believe that my next opponent is also a very good striker, but I’m prepared wherever this match goes.”

When Bumina-ang made his ONE debut, he quickly turned heads after finishing Reza Saedi in just 52 seconds, overwhelming the Iranian with power shots on the feet and heavy ground-and-pound to get the TKO win.

While he’s impressed with his opponent’s striking, he believes that he has the ultimate advantage should the match stay on the feet.

“I’m confident with my striking. I believe I can knock him out or finish him through striking. I also believe that I have the advantage on the ground. I’ve scouted him. I’ve seen his last fight. He struggles on the ground, so it’s one thing that I can exploit as well,” he said.

“If I’m to predict, I’ll keep this fight standing and I’ll search for that knockout. I’m looking for another impressive finish.”
