The Paranaque Aces continued their winning run, defeating the Stan Quezon Lady SparTAN, 69-49, last Saturday in the Pia Cayetano WNBL Season 2021 at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center in San Fernando, Pampanga.
Allana Lim had 17 points and 15 rebounds, and Marydyn Tingcang had 11 points as Paranaque won its seventh game heading into its final elimination round match-up against Glutagence on Sunday afternoon.
Clare Castro had eight points, 14 rebounds and four blocks as the Lady Aces went on a big run after trailing by 10-4 early in the game, finishing the first quarter with 14 straight points for an 18-10 lead and never looked back.
Prior to the game, Paranaque had already cemented its place in the No. 1 seed for the best-of-three semifinal round, but the Lady Aces were determined to enter the playoff round on a winning note.
Quezon fell to last place with a 1-6 win-loss record and must win against Taguig on Sunday to clinch the fourth and final semifinal berth. A loss will place Pacific Water in the final four after completing the eliminations with a 2-6 slate.
Dianne Ventura had 21 points for Quezon but it was not enough as the Lady SparTAN failed to sustain their hot start to the game.
