COLEGIO de San Lorenzo made it three wins in a row by blasting comebacking Holy Angel University, 89-67, in the NAASCU Season 17 basketball tournament at the RTU gym in Mandaluyong.

Soulemane Chabi Yo asserted himself on both ends of the floor to lead the Ironcon Builders-supported  Griffins to their third straight win and the solo lead in Group B.

Chabi Yo, the 6’6” workhorse from South African nation Benin, finished with a double-double of 31 points and 16 rebounds for CdSL, which bagged the MBL Open crown during the off-season.

Chabi  struck hardest in the second quarter when  the Griffins turned a close contest into a rout, increasing a seven-point first quarter lead into 23-point advantage by halftime.

The Griffins of  coach Boni Garcia and manager Jimi Lim also won over Manuel Luiis Quezon University, 101-82 last Aug. 17 and  New Era University, 81-63, last Aug. 22.
