The Filipinas’ Under-17 team absorbed their first loss in the 2024 AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup after suffering a 0-6 rout at the hands of North Korea on Thursday at the Bali United Training Center in Indonesia.
The North Koreans took charge early when Jon Il-Chong scored in the 17th and 27th minutes.
This put the North Koreans in the solo lead of Group A with their second straight triumph.
Kang Ryu-Mi sent the ball to the back of the net for a 2-0 edge in the 24th minute.
After that, Pak Il-Sim gave the North Koreans a four-goal edge in the 31st minute.
The defeat sent the Filipinas U-17 squad sliding down to second place in Group A with their 1-0-1 win-draw-loss record.
