OFFICIALS and coaches of the Association of Boxing Alliances in the Philippines (ABAP) will share their experience in the recent qualifying tournament for the 2024 Paris Olympics in the weekly Tuesday session (March 19) of the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) Forum at the conference hall of the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex.

The country’s governing body for boxing will be represented by secretary general Marcus Jarwin Manalo, executive assistant to the president Karina Picson, and coaches Reynaldo Galido and Mitchel Martinez in the 10:30 a.m. public sports program.

Tokyo Games’ silver medal winner Nesthy Petecio and Aira Villegas clinched berths to the Paris Olympics after reaching the finals and semifinals of their respective weight classes in last week’s World Qualification Tournament held in Busto Arsizio, Italy.

The two became the latest Filipino boxers to qualify in Paris after Eumir Felix Marcial.

Meanwhile, the first part of the session presented by San Miguel Corporation, Philippine Sports Commission, Philippine Olympic Committee, MILO, PLDT/Smart, and ArenaPlus, the 24/7 sports app in the country, will feature triathlon’s Super Series Philippines.
