Dolphins, Parks move into quarterfinals

Bobby Ray Parks Jr. and the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins pulled off their second win over the Toyama Grouses, 101-75, on Sunday to reach the quarterfinal playoffs of the 2021-22 B.League at the Dolphins Arena.

This time, Parks fired 14 points for the Diamond Dolphins, who picked up their fifth straight triumph and remained in second place in the West District standings.

Coty Clarke showed the way with 19 points as the Diamond Dolphins moved ahead on baskets by Parks in the first and second periods.

Two charities from Parks in the last 9:44 of the third period saw Nagoya cut loose, 48-39.

Nagoya moved up to 14-7 in the West, while Toyama fell to two straight losses at 7-14.

Last Saturday, the game was tied at 81-all with 4:31 left, when Parks passed to Scott Eatherton for the go-ahead basket that allowed Nagoya to grab the lead for good.It was a battle of Filipino imports as Parks bucked foul trouble to produce 15 points on three triples with three assists and two rebounds, winning his showdown with the Grouses’ Filipino import Dwight Ramos, who had 11 points, five rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
