MTRCB conducts inspection, information drive on passenger buses, terminals
MTRCB, led by its chairman Rachel Arenas, has conducted an inspection and information drive on passenger buses and various bus terminals in Cubao.

The team was led by its chairperson Rachel Arenas, along with board members (BMs) Paolo Santos, Marissa Laguardia, and Racquel Cruz accompanied by Officer-in-Charge (OIC)-Executive Director, Atty. Ann Marie Nemenzo and the Monitoring and Inspection Unit staff.

The activity aims to increase public awareness and to ensure that buses only exhibited materials within the General Audience (“G”) or Parental Guidance (“PG”) film classification so that children on board will not be exposed to materials inappropriate for their ages. This also coincides with the anticipated volume of commuters travelling to different provinces for the Undas.

Through the faithful execution of the inspection, Ceres Bus Liner and Saulog Transit, Inc. were found to have committed violations against MTRCB’s rules and regulations. The violations committed were showing an unrated movie material through a built-in player and non-posting of PAUNAWA sticker inside the bus.

Chairperson Arenas is pleased to discover the efforts made by Baliwag Transit, Inc. and Golden Bee Transport to ensure compliance with MTRCB’s regulation. The said buses are now showing only television programs as their “on-board” entertainment. With this, the passengers are assured that materials shown are within the parameters of Parental Guidance rating only.
