Joshua Bulot, Bryan del Rosario, and Kim Lawrenz Ordonio, collectively known as the vocal group JBK, plan to release more songs next year and perhaps a full-length album that would showcase the kind of music they listen to and enjoy performing.

“We’ve been known for doing covers, we’ve released an album before but we wanted the listeners to know more of our personality through our songs that we are about to release,” said member Joshua.

“Our stint in The X Factor made us realize that we need to level up our music and the way we perform before a live audience. We need to push ourselves to creating more original music, more OPM. We wanted to give it an international flavor. That’s our vision as a boy band,” the one-third of the group continued.

The trio enjoyed an international exposure when they flew from Manila to London to audition for the popular talent show, The X Factor. They performed a cover of Sam Smith’s track ”Lay Me Down.” Their performance received praises from the entire judging panel, comprised of Sharon Osborne, Nicole Scherzinger, Simon Cowell, and Louis Walsh.

“We didn’t end up in the finals but we had a great experience in The X Factor and it opened a lot of doors for us,” the members said.

Since their return to the country, the vocal group has been busy doing shows and appearing on TV. And recently, the trio launched a single entitled “Anestisya,” which they describe a ballad about coping with heartbreak.

The song made an immediate impact on radio listeners storming the music charts of top FM stations, including Win Radio, Wish, MOR and Barangay LS. On YouTube, the song’s official video now has a quarter of a million views since its release.

“We are thankful that we were chosen to record their song. It’s a great honor for us to give it a millennial flavor,” Byan said in an interview.

“Most guys can’t openly express their emotions when they’re going through an emotional episode like a heartbreak. They think it’s not manly to talk about their emotional side. The song is like that. Most men resort to drinking because it makes them feel numb for a moment,” Byan said of the song’s meaning.

“Anestisya” is written by Jojo Panaligan and produced by Rider PH Studios.
