Awkward situations are commonplace during this new era of video calls. One of which is leaving the mic open thinking you’re on mute the entire time.
This is exactly what happened in a video that circulated on social media earlier this year where a student inappropriately played a game in the middle of an online lecture and left his microphone unmuted for the whole class to hear. It was totally not cool.
Mountain Dew Ice (Mountain Dew’s lemon-lime counterpart) took inspiration from this awkward situation in its new campaign “Mas Cool ‘Pag May Dew Ice” where it vows to turn anything “mas cool” by putting ice in it.
In this refreshing reimagination, just right before the professor loses his temper James Reid enters the virtual classroom and offers the prof a bottle of Dew Ice to cool his head down. From there, Dew Ice’s lemon-lime sarap takes over and makes everything cooler for everyone.
Mountain Dew Brand Manager Dominique Layugan explains, “This video is a part of an ongoing campaign of Mountain Dew Ice which features brand ambassador James Reid as he hijacks recent viral internet moments to make them cooler.”
