Throughout the years, Jollibee has made its mark with its heartwarming short films, which showcase relatable stories within three-minute advertisements.

For this year’s Valentine’s Day celebration, Jollibee took a new twist on its iconic Kwentong Jollibee series by featuring new heartfelt stories from real people.

“These stories are made more touching since they’re told by the actual persons, and we as viewers get to be part of their inspiring journey of finding joy. We hope that these will inspire you even more to share the joy of love this season,” said Dorothy Dee-Ching, the marketing head of Jollibee Philippines, during the advanced screening of the #MyKwentongJollibee short films.

Directed by award-winning filmmaker Paolo Villaluna, the two short films for this year’s #MyKwentongJollibee Valentine’s Day celebration are 30 Dates and To Love Again.

30 Dates revolves around the story of good friends Kristian and Coleen who unexpectedly find themselves developing something deeper in the midst of 30 straight days of courtship in celebration of the latter’s birth month.

Tackling the theme of giving love a second chance is To Love Again, which tells the story of a single mom who has long turned her back on love after being heartbroken and a man who had fallen for her and hoped to win her love.

Villaluna noted that it was a noble thing to put the real-life stories of people such as the two couples in the short films into the spotlight, thereby bringing a more relatable value to the public.

During the exclusive launch of the two films at the Bonifacio High Street Cinema last Feb. 12, the event was graced by the two real-life couples along with their children.

Coleen Lasat from 30 Dates shared how seeing the poster for their short film brought tears to her and her husband’s eyes as they also felt touched by how their story was able to reach the hearts of other people.

Hazel and Ronald Pesigan from To Love Again tearfully attested to how their story served as proof that even after a painful experience, love will always find a way to bring two hearts together.

Musician Ebe Dancel also took part in the celebration by singing his song “Dapit-hapon,” which was used in To Love Again, and personally thanked the couples for sharing their stories with the world.

Apart from screening the films, the event also involved an interactive live poll among the audience where they were asked questions about their perspectives on romance.

The two films are available to watch on Jollibee Studios’ official YouTube page.
