Film director Joel Lamangan was firm when he said that Lovi Poe, Marco Gumabao, and Tony Labrusca need not try hard to be sexy as they already are.

“Sometimes it’s hard to do a sexy movie when the stars are not naturally sexy. But with the cast of this film, it’s so natural. They are oozing with sexiness without even trying. And it wasn’t hard for us to showcase that in the film,” the seasoned director told members of the entertainment press during an event held over the weekend.

“The movie is sexy in itself, the characters do everything that normal couples, who are in a romantic relationship, do in real life,” Lamangan added.

Viva Films introduces Lovi, Marco, and Tony in a love triangle story written by Ricky Lee, and directed Lamangan.

Inspired by the song performed by The Juans, Hindi Tayo Pwede is billed as a summer romantic drama. It tells the story of Gabby (Lovi) or Gab for short, who finds love in a man who is also named Gabby (Tony) and shares a long and deep friendship with Dennis (Marco).

Gab and Gabby are looking forward to spending their lives together, but a car accident took Gabby’s life before their wedding day.  Dennis keeps Gab company in her time of grief and finally confesses his true feelings for her.  Gab can’t help but become intimate with him.

But Gabby is still very much present in Gab’s life.  She still sees him, talks to him, even makes love with him.  If she opens her heart to Dennis, she might lose Gabby forever.  Is she ready to let go? Will she ever allow herself to move on?

With three Best Actress awards and three Best Supporting Actress awards under her belt and the exclusive title of “Kapuso Primera Aktresa”, Lovi Poe is out to touch hearts with her performance in this romantic drama.  This is her second time to be under the direction of Joel Lamangan.  Her first being The Bride and the Lover back in 2013.

Poe has done passionate love scenes in the past, just like in The Annulment, but her chemistry with Tony Labrusca and Marco Gumabao is something to watch out for.   These two gentlemen are considered two of the hottest heartthrobs of today’s generation.  Labrusca was sensational in Glorious and Gumabao was intense in Just a Stranger.

From the trailer of  Hindi Tayo Pwede, it looks like these three dedicated actors didn’t hold back in doing steamy scenes to show the love and the longing of the characters they play.  It also looks like their love triangle is getting the attention it deserves.  In less than 24 hours of its release, the trailer already garnered 1.6 million views across all social media platforms.  Comments from netizens show that there is excitement for this movie that is full of love yet full of heartache.

Hindi Tayo Pwede opens in cinemas nationwide on March 4.

Netizens rave about local adaptation of ‘Descendants of the Sun’

On Feb. 10, GMA Network’s local adaptation of the global phenomenon, Descendants of the Sun (DOTS), premiered and has since been setting social media abuzz with swooning comments of its production, cinematography, and prime stars.

Dingdong Dantes and Jennylyn Mercado in a scene from the local adaptation of ‘Descendants of the Sun.’

On Facebook, Canadian user Chen Chen commented that the series was worth the wait, “I love it! Good job on the casting and the Philippine adaptation itself was worth the wait. Watching from Canada!”

Donah Bascar likewise praised the on-screen chemistry of its lead stars Dingdong Dantes as Captain Lucas Manalo and Jennylyn Mercado as Dr. Maxine dela Cruz.

During the pilot episode, Descendants of the Sun trended nationwide and worldwide on Twitter where users were tweeting their kilig-filled sentiments.

Meanwhile, on YouTube, Lemuel Rico commended the series’ production. “Grabe ‘yung production! ‘Yung cinematography, ‘yung color grading, ‘yung scoring, lahat superb!,” he said.

After Capt. Lucas (Dingdong) lied about his real occupation, Dr. Maxine (Jennylyn) ended their relationship. To her surprise, both of them were deployed to Urdan for a medical mission. Now that they are forced to work together, can they set aside their feelings for each other or will they reconcile and grow closer to one another?

Follow their epic love story in Descendants of the Sun (The Philippine Adaptation), weeknights, after Anak ni Waray vs Anak ni Biday on GMA Telebabad.
