Anyone can be a father but it takes someone special to be a dad. This is the premise of the upcoming film by Regal Entertainment, Spring Films, and Star Cinema titled Northern Lights: A Journey To Love, starring Piolo Pascual and Raikko Mateo, and introducing Yen Santos.
Dondon Santos, who has directed numerous episodes of top-rating shows on ABS-CBN, like Maalaala Mo Kaya, Komiks Presents, Ipaglaban Mo, and the primetime series Green Rose, and the movies Dalaw and Noy under Star Cinema, directed the film shot partly in New Zealand from the creenplay written by Onay Sales.
Northern Lights: A Journey To Love is a heartwarming movie about a father, a woman, and a child, and their journey toward finding true love.
In the movie, Piolo plays a desolate man who is searching for the right path in his life, while Raikko portrays a child who is longing for love from his father.
The film marks the very first big-screen collaboration of Piolo, the child actor Raikko, and young actress Yen, as well as with director Dondon Santos.
It is also Piolo’s first full-length feature this year since he starred opposite Dawn Zulueta and Coleen Garcia in Love Me Tomorrow lin 2016.
Piolo, who is a real-life dad to 19-year old young actor Iñigo Pascual, remains the industry’s ultimate leading man who is consistently showered with critical acclaim for his performances of flawed and conflicted characters that he has portrayed through the years.
Raikko, on the other hand, is one of today’s most promising child stars whose most notable work is his starring role in ABS-CBN’s top-rating primetime series Honesto while Yen has been gaining mainstream traction with her notable performances in such ABS-CBN drama series as Pure Love and All Of Me.
Together, Piolo, Raikko, Yen, and Direk Dondon will show moviegoers of all ages hope for a heart used to being alone. Witness the journey of a father who feels lost and a son who feels alone and discover if the light of love could bring them back home.
Northern Lights: A Journey To Love is showing in cinemas nationwide on March 29.

For the seventh consecutive year, Jessica Soho was awarded Most Trusted News Presenter. “Kapag naririnig ko yung salitang trust, ‘yung tiwala, napakalaking bagay nun kasi it’s something that you earn. Hindi mo ‘yan hinihingi, kailangang ibigay sa’yo yan,” said Soho. “Maraming maraming salamat muli sa Readers’ Digest at sa lahat ng sumusuporta sa akin,” she added.

One of Abra’s biggest event took off this March in celebration of the province’s Centennial Year and what a way to celebrate it with the stars literally coming down to this northern province.
The celebration kicked-off with the Tingguan Festival on March 3 followed by Luminous Fun Run and Zumba Day with Regine Tolentino on March 5.
Abrenos were treated to a night of spectacular street dancing competition highlighted by performances of ABS-CBN’s stars headed by Pinoy Boyband Superstar, Jerome Ponce, and Mariz Racal on March 6. March 7 saw the coronation of Mr. & Ms. Abra hosted by Derek Ramsey and 2013 Miss International Bea Rose Santiago with performances by Dessa and Jason Dy.
Another highlight of the centennial celebration was the staging of Katutubong Fashion show with Abel Abra fabrics designed by famous Manila designers worn by top Manila ramp models. Paulo Avelino and Sam Pinto added glamor to the event held onMarch 8. The Grand Day Parade and rock icon Bamboo was the main event on March 9 followed by the Pammadayaw Festival with special guest Kuh Ledesma.
The centennial celebration of Abra was spearheaded by Gov. Joy Bernos with the help of all the municipal mayors of the province with Rico Ancheta of Artists Concept Production as Overall Project Coordinator.
