Actress Max Collins is grateful to GMA for giving her the opportunity to play a contravida role in the network’s latest primetime series My Guardian Angel.
Collins said that she enjoys playing the character of Venus, who is funny and overdramatic. She added that even though her role is a villain, there is lightness to it because of the humor involved.
“It’s simply a joy playing the character of Venus. She’s funny. So, I get to enjoy playing a villainess in this soap for the first time,” Collins stated.
The actress is also thankful to director Zig Dulay for entrusting her with the character.
In the series, Collins has numerous slapping scenes with Marian Rivera. She said that it is not difficult to oppress Rivera on screen because they talk about the scenes beforehand. Collins asks Rivera’s permission before slapping or hurting her in a scene.
“Actually, it’s not difficult. I’m a professional and I love my job as an actress. What’s good between me and Marian, we talk before the scene is executed. Beforehand, I ask her if it’s okay to slap or hurt her in the scene,” Collins said.

With more Kapamilya stars now able to guest on GMA shows, especially since It’s Showtime began airing on the Kapuso network, Rita Daniela doesn’t feel threatened.
“Why should I?” she says. “I’m a homegrown talent of GMA and for me, it will be an opportunity to further broaden my opportunities.”
“During the official contract signing between GMA and ABS-CBN for It’s Showtime, I was a performer at the event. Vice Ganda told me she’s looking forward to seeing me perform on their noontime program,” Daniela recalls.
Rita believes that if you know your capabilities, there’s no room for insecurity.
“If you’re confident enough and you know what you can give to the audience, you won’t feel threatened. I don’t feel that way because I know what I’m capable of as an artist. I’m certain that I won’t embarrass my network with what talent I can offer.”
Some fans are already buzzing about a possible singing showdown between you and Angeline Quinto. Are you up for it?
“Why not?” Daniela states. “If given the chance that will be fun.”
