Former beauty queen, actress, public servant and businesswoman Daisy Reyes might be a late bloomer when it comes to marriage. The 44-year-old Pateros councilor married the love of her life, the one she said is given by the Lord to her, just last year.

Lawyer and basketball coach Barry Tobias and Daisy tied the knot on Feb. 27, 2019 at Antonio’s in Tagaytay City.

Daisy has bloomed and continues to bloom in public service and in the businesses she established. She has been a councilor of Pateros for two terms already and says she enjoys public service because she is able to share her talent and knowledge with her constituents, get to interact with people, and know what their needs are.

Her self-named salon and beauty soap are blossoming as well. The former Bb. Pilipinas-World started the Daisy Reyes Salon 14 years ago. As a beauty queen and actress, Daisy thinks that beauty is the business for her.

“I’m very hands-on at the salon. I get to teach beauty techniques that I learned while I was still in showbusiness and in my experience being a beauty queen,” said Daisy, who has done a string of movies including the critically acclaimed Cariño Brutal with Rosanna Roces, Palaban and Birador with Rudy Fernandez, Hinahanap-Hanap Kita with Aga Muhlach, Lisensyado with now senator Lito Lapid and Scorpio Nights 2 with Albert Martinez.

She was last seen in ABS-CBN’s Ang Probinsyano but is now focused on taking care of her family and being hands-on with another business – their family house rental in Tagaytay and Baguio City.

Daisy is also into music. She was only 13 when she joined DZRH’s Fiesta Caravan, and recorded her self-titled album in 2002 under Dyna Records. She also formed a band called DAZE and performed in bars around the metro. Her second album was a pop-rock-alternative titled Ode To The Irony Of Love with five original compositions, three revivals, and two acoustic covers.

But, where Daisy has truly bloomed is in her faith. In fact, she says the achievement she is most proud of is being able to share the word of God. She is a member of Team Ministries International.

“What has kept me strong through the years is my faith in God. I never regretted anything that has happened to my life, because I believe it’s all part of God’s plan for my life. The struggles that I experienced made me stronger and most of all humbled me. All of these are part of what I have become now,” says Daisy.

Daisy holds in her heart the promise of God in 1 Corinthians 2:9, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived want God has prepared for those who love him.”

Daisy just wants to continue what she’s doing now and prays to have more properties for rental in the future.
