Netizens found themselves doing a double take when a video of what appeared to be actor Pepe Herrera leading a mob of dancers to the song “The Boys” by Kpop girl group Girls Generation during the Songkran Festival 2024 in Thailand while dressed in a white bra top and skirt circulated online.
However, this was actually Thai dancer Nat Silprasert who was partaking in the festivities of Songkran, or the Thai New Year, which involved water fights as part of the celebration.
Netizens were quick to point out Silprasert’s striking resemblance to the actor, which quickly spread around social media sites. Eventually, it reached Herrera and he responded by sharing a video on the comedy page “Kabalastugan” which showed the lookalikes of many celebrities including himself.
“[The] answer to the question of everyone sending me TikTok videos of a Thai dancer,” said Herrera.
“I appreciate the love,” he later added with a screengrab of himself beside Silprasert.
The original video of Silprasert dancing was posted on TikTok and has over 1.5 million views as of writing.
Herrera is known for his comedic roles in TV shows and films. He currently stars as Philip Alvarez in the Philippine adaptation of the hit Kdrama series “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim”’ alongside Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino.
