Korean singer-actress Lee Hyeri apologized publicly on Monday for the confusion and controversy caused by her social media posts after rumors surfaced about her ex-boyfriend, actor Ryu Jun-yeol, dating actress Han So-hee.

Hyeri took to her Instagram to ask forgiveness for not considering the impact of her actions.

“I sincerely apologize for the speculation and controversy caused by my personal emotions over the past few days. I deeply apologize to anyone who was harmed because of me,” said the actress.

On March 15, Hyeri posted a cryptic post saying “interesting”, which gained attention amid rumors of Jun-yeol new relationship with So-hee. Hyeri also unfollowed Jun-yeol.

So-hee then confirmed on Saturday, March 16, that she is dating Jun-yeol, but emphasized that their relationship only began after his previous one ended.

“It’s true that I’m in a relationship with good feelings but please don’t use the word ‘rebound’,” she wrote in a letter posted on her personal blog,

Referring to her breakup with Jun-yeol in November of last year, which became public last November, Hyeri said they discussed giving their relationship another chance but clarified that they have not been in contact since those conversations.

“I am so sorry to have caused harm due to the impulse of the moment. I apologize once again if this has led to more confusion. I promise to act and talk with more prudence,” she continued.

Hyeri and Ryu, who first worked together on the 2016 drama “Reply 1988”, went public with their relationship in 2017 but announced their separation in November. Their agency, C-JeS Studio, confirmed the breakup at the time.
