Actress Bea Alonzo and fiancé Dominic Roque finally confirmed their breakup and called off their engagement on Sunday, Feb. 11.
In a joint statement released on Instagram, Bea and Dominic announced that they both decided to end their three-year relationship, putting an end to speculations and rumors spreading online for weeks.
“After much thought, consideration, and care, we have mutually decided to amicably end our engagement. It was not an easy decision,” the post stated.
“We wanted to have more time to carefully deliberate and pray about it, but there have been many speculations, questions, and insults,” it added.
The former couple also expressed their disappointment over those who confirmed their breakup without their consent.
“Unfortunately, some even confirmed our break-up without our consent, and some created ridiculous stories that had no basis and were utterly false, so we felt the need to share this announcement with great sadness, for our peace of mind and our families,” the statement said.
The two also requested the public to stop throwing “hurtful words” on social media.
“Please understand that this is an extremely painful yet united decision, and we sincerely request for everyone to kindly spare us from more cruel and very hurtful words thrown on social media,” it continued.
“We kindly request to give us the privacy we need as we navigate our future lives with respect, kindness, compassion, and dignity. Thank you for yourunderstanding and support,” it ended.
Bea and Dominique got engaged last year in July, at Las Casas De Acuzar in Quezon City.
