South Korean supergroup BTS members RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook announced on Wednesday that they have begun the process of their mandatory military service in South Korea.
“We would like to inform our fans that RM, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook have initiated the military enlistment process,” the K-pop group’s agency, BigHit, said in a statement posted on Weverse,
The news comes after the septet’s youngest member, Jungkook, had his “fan showcase” on Monday, as part of the promotion of his debut album, “Golden”.
“The artists are preparing to fulfill their military service duties. We will inform you of further updates in due course,” the statement added.
The agency also the fans to continue supporting the global supergroup as they complete their military services.
“We ask you for your continued love and support for RM, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook until they complete their military service and safely return. Our company will spare no effort in providing support for our artists,” it wrote.
RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook have not yet announced their exact enlistment dates. However, the agency said that they will be releasing more information soon.
The four members will be the last batch of the group to enter the military after j-hope and Suga enlisted earlier this year and Jin last December.
Before entering, the group promised their fans, ARMY, to return in 2025 and expressed their excitement to perform on stage once again as a group.
In the meantime, ARMY can continue to enjoy BTS’s music and look forward to their return in 2025.
