It’s another fabulous back-to-back, ultra-colorful treat this weekend as Senator Imee Marcos celebrates LGBTQI+ Pride in two brand-new vlog entries on her official YouTube channel.
Today, June 24, Imee sits down with two luminaries from the community – Geraldine Roman and Ziffred Ancheta.
Roman is the very first transgender woman elected to Congress as she is currently on her third term as Representative of the first district of Bataan, while Ancheta serves as Barangay Captain of Marikina City’s Barangay Tumana and president of Liga Ng Mga Barangay.
Imee’s intimate interview with Roman and Ancheta is filled with laughter and inspiration as they discuss family, career, and how the two live their amazing lives as transwomen in the political landscape of the Philippines.
The fun continues on Saturday, June 25, when Imee’s proficiency and aptitude for LGBTQI+ culture are put to the test in a hilarious game as she guesses the meaning and correct usage of popular and hip gay lingo.

Ever since, babaeng bakla nga ang tawag sa akin ng mga friends ko,” says Imee who is a gay icon herself. “I am proud of what they have accomplished and they will always have my solid support. They are shining beacons of hope who broke the glass ceiling as they are very instrumental in paving the way for the younger ones to soar high and reach for their dreams.”
