Darren Espanto has found the perfect way to celebrate his 10th year in the music business. The 22-year-old singer, who also now dabbles in songwriting, is celebrating his career anniversary with a special one-night-only show at the Araneta Coliseum on June 1.

The concert titled D10, according to Darren,  promises a night of electrifying performances and a star-studded lineup. Joining him on stage are some of the biggest names in the industry who have been part of his musical journey, including Erik Santos, Gary Valenciano, Lyca Gairanod, Ogie Alcasid, Sarah Geronimo, and Vice Ganda.

The setlist for Darren’s concert will reflect his rise to becoming one of the most exciting and reliable singers today, while the stage will be a glimpse of the kind of artist he’ll be in the future.

“We’re using a technology that has never been used here in the Philippines by any local artist. I can’t tell you much about it, but since it’s going to be the first time that a local singer will use this technology, I want my audience to feel special because we endeavor to make the show special and one of a kind,” Darren said during the media conference for the concert.

It seems like just yesterday when television audiences were captivated by the then 12-year-old Darren Espanto belting out Jessie J’s “Domino” on The Voice Kids stage. Now, a decade later, Darren has blossomed into a multi-talented entertainer, a mainstay in the music industry, and a household name.

“It opened so many doors for me and helped me fulfill my dream of becoming a performer,” the singer said, looking back at his roots in the reality singing competition.

Darren Espanto rose to fame in the first season of ‘The Voice Kids’

“Ten years ago, I never would have imagined that I would be on three programs at the same time,” he says, referring to his current workload that includes ASAP, It’s Showtime, and his acting stint in Can’t Buy Me Love. “It’s something I’m incredibly grateful for.”

Darren acknowledges his growth as both an artist and a person.

“Darren now is more mature,” he said with a smile. “I no longer pressure myself to meet expectations. I’m learning to live life and appreciate the present moment.”

Darren recently released the music video for his latest single, “Hanggang Kailan,” featuring the actress Belle Mariano. The song takes a more sentimental approach, with Darren crooning about longing and waiting for the right love.

Tickets to Darren’s D10 concert are available at Ticketnet outlets and ticketnet.com.ph, priced at P8,004 (Platinum), P6,404 (VIP), P4,269 (Patron A), P2,668 (Patron B), P2,135 (Lower box), P1,068 (Upper box), and P427 (General admission).
