GMA’s hit series Black Rider continues for a second season with new characters joining the action drama. One of the new faces is actress Angeli Khang, who will play Nimfa. She’ll be shaking things up for Elias, played by Ruru Madrid.
Ruru even shared a fun fact about filming his first scene with Angeli. It turns out it was a kissing scene. He joked that he was surprised when he read the script and had to explain it to his girlfriend, actress Bianca Umali, later.
“Our first meeting was actually when we first met because our very first encounter involved a kissing scene. So that became our initial bonding. I was surprised when I read the script and realized that this was going to happen,” said Ruru.
The Black Rider star also praised Angeli for being professional and dedicated to her craft.
“We are happy that she has become part of the ‘Black Rider’ family,” he added.
With his intimate scene with Angeli, Ruru was asked in a separate interview if his girlfriend and actress Bianca was aware of his kissing scene.
“I immediately told her because, to be honest, it wasn’t clear to me that there was a kissing scene. When I arrived on set, I just read that there were kissing scenes. I thought they were just joking with me,” shared Ruru.
“There was no signal in Tanay, so I had no choice but to do the scene without her knowing. After that day, when there was a signal, I explained it to her,” he added. The action star then said that Bianca appreciated his honesty and replied with, “Okay.”
Ruru also emphasized the importance of transparency in their relationship when it comes to things like this.
“We are more transparent with each other. That’s the secret we found to make our relationship smoother. We should be aware of what’s happening with each other, especially when it comes to these things so that we know each other’s expectations,” explained Ruru.
The actor also shared that transparency had helped them build trust in each other, reaching a point in their relationship where jealousy is not an issue.
“Bianca is very transparent, so, of course, she also expects me to be the same. That’s how the dynamics of our relationship are,” he said.
“We’re at that point in our relationship. Not that there’s no jealousy, but our level of trust is complete,” continued Ruru who in a relationship with Bianca for over six years now.
Joining Angeli in the second season are Lianne Valentin, Luke Conde, BJ Forbes, Epy Quizon, Madam Inutz, William Lorenzo, Yul Servo, and Matet de Leon.
Black Rider airs from Monday to Friday, at 8:00 p.m. on GMA Prime.
