While G! LU might have its fair share of topless scenes, the true crowd-pleaser at the film’s red carpet premiere turned out to be a different kind of scene altogether.
The audience erupted in cheers when Teejay Marquez and Carl Guevarra shared a kiss in the movie. The scenes following this kiss resonated deeply with viewers due to the film’s heartwarming portrayal of friendship and acceptance.
G! LU, directed by Philip King, is a touching story about six best friends, known on campus as the Valley Boys Club (VBC). After getting in trouble at school, their parents threaten to send them all to different countries.
Not wanting to be separated, the VBC decides to take one last road trip together to the beach town of La Union, known for its surfing and parties.
This trip becomes more than just some fun in the sun. It’s a chance for the friends to grow closer, find love, and face a big secret. The movie shows how strong friendships can be.
The VBC guys are always there for each other, especially when Raymond (Teejay) needs their support as he figures out his feelings. The scene where Raymond kisses Carl’s character had everyone cheering at the premiere. It’s a beautiful moment that shows how much Raymond’s friends love and accept him for who he is.
Meanwhile, Kiko Estrada was still missing at the red carpet premiere Kiko is one of the six leads in this summer barkada movie alongside David Licauco, Ruru Madrid, Derrick Monasterio, Enzo Pineda, and Teejay.
It can be recalled that Kiko was also absent from the media conference held at KAO Manila on April 17, and fans hoped he would show up at the red carpet premiere at SM Megamall Cinema last Sunday.
Ruru was also missing from the media conference but made up for it by attending the premiere night, while Derrick was absent from the premiere night.
Despite only four of the leads attending, their fans still showed full support and enjoyed the film thoroughly.
G! LU is ALV Films’ latest movie project, in tandem with Benchingko Films and Rein Entertainment. The film is now showing nationwide.
