Fresh and bold pairings lead Viva’s cinematic feast for 2024

With the resurgence of moviegoers flocking back to theaters, Viva Films has unveiled an explosive lineup of projects that showcases fresh and daring collaborations among some of the industry’s biggest names.

Notable pairings include Alden Richards and Heaven Peralejo, Aga Muhlach and Julia Barretto, and the much-anticipated on-screen debut of real-life couple Matteo Guidicelli and Sarah Geronimo.

Heaven, who is part of Alden’s directorial debut in Out of Order, shared her admiration, stating, “Alden is… he’s a first-time director, but he knows what he wants. He’s really like one of the best directors I’ve ever had.”

Matteo and Sarah are ready to showcase their on-screen chemistry as they team up for the first time in the Philippine adaptation of the 2025 South Korean romantic-comedy, Wonderful Nightmare

Adding to Viva’s interesting 2024 lineup includes the pairing of Aga and Julia in Ikaw Pa Rin ang Pipiliin Ko, a film that has already completed shooting and is scheduled for nationwide release on Feb. 7.

Described as a timeless love story titled Ikaw Pa Rin ang Pipiliin Ko, the romantic film is helmed by Irene Villamor. It also features the music of George Canseco and the trending pop band Cup of Joe.

“While modern technology has made motion pictures easily accessible via digital platforms and television, it is still a fact that watching movies in a theater is a unique experience that everybody enjoys,” Viva Films said in a statement sent to Manila Standard Entertainment.

“To entice movie-goers back to the theaters, we have prepared a line-up of films featuring the hottest stars and directors and each one imbued with that singular trademark of quality entertainment that the name Viva has been known for these past 42 years,” the statement went on. 

Meanwhile, the production outfit’s opening salvo for the new year is the horror-comedy-romance My Zombabe, featuring Empoy Marquez and Kim Molina. The film, showing in cinemas on Jan. 10, is directed by Bobby Bonifacio

Also showing in January, are Roadtrip, starring Janice De Belen, Gelli de Belen, Carmina Villaroel, and Candy Pangilinan; Raging Grace, starring Max Eigenmann; Itutumba Ka ng Tatay Ko, starring Janno Gibbs and Xia Vigor, the child sensation of Miracle in Cell No. 7; and the Filipino adaptation of My Sassy Girl with Toni Gonzaga and Pepe Herrera.

The excitement continues with blockbusters like Pagpag 24/7 starring Gerald Napoles, Wilbert Ross, and Colleen Garcia, Dearly Beloved with Cristine Reyes and Baron Geisler, Glimpse of Forever featuring Diego Loyzaga, Jasmine Curtis-Smith, and Jerome Ponce, and the suspenseful Elevator Game starring Kylie Verzosa and Paulo Avelino.
Viva Films is also proud to present a lineup that includes Alessandra De Rossi in Ang Tatlong Pinakamahabang Gabi, the comedic reunion of Kim and Jerald in Best Before Love, and Atasha Muhlach’s big-screen debut in Sword’s Up

Jerald Napoles and Janno Gibbs star in Tito X Tito; Diego Loyzaga and Rhen Escano team up with Joel Torre in Bullet Day; Heaven and Marco Gallo in Men are from QC, Women are from Alabang; and more.

The cinematic feast is set to continue throughout the year, with Viva celebrating its 42nd anniversary by delivering more blockbuster titles and bigger stars to the cinemas. 

Established in 1982, Viva Films has grown into a powerhouse of entertainment, encompassing motion pictures, music, television, live entertainment, and film and music streaming.
