Indian actor Aditya Khurana was crowned Man of the World 2022 after besting 20 other candidates during the finals held at the Baguio Convention Center on June 18. Ukraine’s Vladimir Grand was named first runner up while the Philippines’ Nadim Elzein was second runner up. 

Completing the winner’s circle are Netherland’s Tjardo Vollema and Vietnam’s Nguyen Huu Anh who finished third and fourth runners-up, respectively.

Indian actor Aditya Khurana is a native of Pune, Maharashtra

Khurana won the judges over with his wit, great smile, and strong stage presence striking many as the male version of Miss Universe 1994 Sushmita Sen.

The 22-year-old singer and actor is a native of Pune, Maharashtra. He starred in the recent Indian film The Rage.

“The Philippines for me is a country of love. Everyone that I meet is very friendly, loving, and protective. So, all of you who want to experience that should go to the Philippines,” Khurana said with a smile. “If you want to survive in this world, you need to have an education. If you don’t have the right education, you have no lifetime,” said Khurana who advocates education.

Stars, beauty queens honored in Maharlika Filipino Awards 2022

A star-studded “Maharlika Filipino Awards 2022” was held successfully at the Grand Ballroom of Okada Manila, recently which recognized exemplary contributions of Filipinos in the field of entertainment, fashion, beauty, media, business, and social service.

A fashion show dubbed “Filipiniana and Barong Collection,” showcasing the collection of Zyrill Jane Jacinto, and fashion competition “Likha: Modern Filipiniana Design Competition,” added glamour to the awards show.

Awarded Maharlika Gandang Filipina 2022 were Bb. Pilipinas International 2021 Hannah Arnold, Miss Philippines Universe Charity 2022 Pauline Amelinckx, and Star Shining Queens like Mrs. Face of Beauty International 2019 and Mrs. Philippines International 2021 Leona Luisa Andersen. 

Actors Yasmine Kurdi, James Blanco and Julia Clarete, singers Richard Reynoso, Jessa Zaragoza and Dingdong Avanzado, and director Joel Lamangan were honored in the field of music, film and television.

MMG Queen of Hearts Foundation, Inc. headed by Mitzie Go-Gil, Mrs. Philippines International headed by Maan Cuerto Aris, and the Fashion Designers Association of the Philippines (FDAP) were named outstanding NGOs while Aura Beauty and Wellness was awarded Maharlika Filipino Brand of the Year. Robert Requintina of Manila Bulletin and this writer were among the honorees in media.


Philippine bet off to Korea for Mrs. Universe 2022

Mrs. Universe Philippines, Foundation, headed by national director Maria Charo Calalo, recently held a send-off party for its departing queens competing in Mrs. Universe 2022 in South Korea on June 30.
